Frequently Asked Questions

Campus Courses

Tuition does not include housing or meals. Students are responsible for their own meals with the exception of courses conducted in Asheville, NC, which will include a daily lunch while the course is in session.

We do not schedule instructional sessions on evenings and weekends, but some assignments or study sessions may be required after conventional school hours.

Students attending campus courses are responsible for all aspects of arranging their accommodations during their training. While we do not have dorms available in any of our host cities, various hotels, hostels and furnished apartments in our host cities offer special rates. Please click here to consult our Campus life page for suggestions regarding selecting accommodations in Chicago and for contact information to request an updated list of suggested hotels in the Chicago area.

For Siebel Institute courses held outside of Chicago, refer to the specific course web page for location details and suggested accommodation options.

Chicago campus classes run from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday through Friday. Some days may run longer, some shorter, depending on class activities.

The Munich classes run from 7.30am to 4:15pm. Some days may run longer, some shorter, depending on class activities.

We do not sell our educational materials, and they are only allowed to those attending a class.

Funding Questions

Our courses/programs do not apply to student loans or grants as we are a privately-owned trade school rather than a state-owned or accredited school.

Our courses do not fall under the Veterans Administration programs at this time.

 

We do not have payment programs available. Students are permitted to submit multiple payments over time until the final payment deadline applies. Full tuition is needed before a person can take any course or program.

Yes, the Purchase Order must be submitted in a timely matter so payment can be submitted in a timely matter.

Payment terms for campus course are 60 days prior to the start of the course and 14 day prior to the start of any online course.

No, all enrollments are final and are not transferable but you may withdraw from a course, module or program at any time. Tuition refunds, if any, will be given based on the date the cancellation is received.

General Questions

While we do not have onsite parking available, there are three public parking lots within a short distance of our facility.

  • Outdoor parking at the southeast corner of Halsted and Van Buren adjacent to Giordano’s Restaurant. The lot is serviced by an attendee in a kiosk onsite, with hours generally operating from 8:00am to 7:00pm. This is the closest parking lot to our location (3-minute walk).
  • Indoor parking on Quincy Street just east of the corner of Halsted and Quincy. This is a multi-floor automated parking lot located at the rear entrance of 765 W. Adams (Arkadia Towers) on the south side of the building as approached from Halsted St. (5-minute walk).
  • Indoor parking at 1035 Van Buren at Aberdeen St. Located in the Landmark West Loop building with the entrance facing Van Buren St. (6-minute walk).

Street parking is available, but as our community serves both business and residential traffic, street parking can be difficult to find. When choosing street parking, pay attention to signs indicating parking restrictions including limited hours and permit-only parking.

A “Program” is made up of modules, and is graded, resulting in a transcript of grades and, if successfully completed and passed, a Certificate of Completion is awarded.

A “Module” is similar to a course, and makes up a Program. Modules are also graded, and result in a transcript of grades, but no certificate is awarded for completing a module.

A “Course” is ungraded but full attendance is required in order to be awarded a Certificate of Attendance.

The brewing industry is very complex, and choosing the right course or program to meet your needs is important.

No. Siebel Institute of Technology is not accredited by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

The school does not guarantee the transferability of credits to another school, college or university. Credits or coursework are not likely to transfer; any decision on the comparability, appropriateness and applicability of credit and whether credit should be accepted is the decision of the receiving institution.

Yes, you can complete our programs over a period of time. For more information please review our Academic Catalog.

Per US Federal Law, you must be 21 years of age to attend campus classes. For online, you just need to be of legal drinking age in your home country.

Online Courses

Most people taking web-based education are working full-time jobs and cannot spend more than a few hours each week to study, so there is a wider window of access to finish the courses or program. The same materials used on campus are gone thru in a much more rapid fashion as classroom is 7 hours per day.

Course materials are available online at all times, so students can set their own study hours provided they keep up with the overall pace of the lesson plan.

The only occasions where students are asked to be online at a specific time is during the weekly chat-based round-table sessions. It is not compulsory to attend these sessions, but they are beneficial.

No special software is required to run our course content as it runs under standard web browsers. Our courses run on PC and Mac formats. If you are using a computer issued by your company, you may need to have security settings adjusted to allow access to the courseware.

No, students must complete their studies within the dates allowed. If is an online offering, access will be cut-off after the last day of the class.

Yes, most people attending web-based education are also working full-time jobs, and the online option offers the flexibility of time to study when they can.
