Peter Rogers, is a biochemist who completed a PhD in yeast developmental biology at the Australian National University in the very early 70s. He worked on fungal differentiation in Germany. He was a Professor at Griffith University, Brisbane for 22 years, in between working during sabbaticals in Germany and the US.
His early work focused on yeast mitochondrial genetics, but over time this switched to applied problems especially towards value adding in Queensland's agricultural industries.Eventually he accepted the position of general manager of the research team within the Foster's group in Melbourne. Peter is a Professor Adjunct at Griffith University, and continues to publish on yeast genetics and beer stability with others, and he consults to the drinks sector in Australia.
