The World Brewing Academy is pleased to announce an exciting new addition to our educational programs. In response to requests from breweries and students, we are adding a new course & program to our line-up that will set the standard for brewing education in the years to come.

The NEW 8-week Advanced Applied Brewing Techniques Course, when added to our flagship 12-week International Diploma in Brewing Technology program, forms the NEW WBA Master Brewer Program. The Master Brewer program builds on the foundation of understanding gained from the Diploma Program by immersing students in weeks of hands-on brewing, packaging, lab work and other activities common to breweries throughout the globe. If you want to build a career in brewing, this is the program for you.

Yeast DNA Fingerprinting Services

More than any one factor, the quality & consistency of your beer depends on your yeast. Yeast can change over time, shifting its characteristics due to a variety of circumstances including genetic mutation. If you want the same level of assurance of genetic purity that the biggest brewers use, Siebel Institute has the answer. We are proud to introduce DNA fingerprinting services through our Montreal-based Microbiology Services division. We can create a genetic profile of your yeast using industry-leading analytical techniques that will let you track any changes in your strain. Best of all, the cost of these tests is incredibly affordable, making this a valuable service for breweries of any size. In combination with our yeast banking & propagation services, our yeast genetic programs will help your brewery to produce consistently excellent beer time and time again.

Learn the Fundamentals:
Web-Based Executive Overview of the Brewing Process

While most of our courses are targeted towards brewers looking to improve their technical brewing skills, our web-based Executive Overview of the Brewing Process was specifically created to give those in brewing management, sales and support roles a thorough overview of commercial brewing. This course is also suitable for training shop floor personnel in the fundamentals of brewing.

Created by student facilitator Ian Stanners (former brewmaster for Molson Brewing), the Executive Overview program packs an amazing amount of information into a three-week online period. Like the popular web-based WBA Concise Course, the Executive Overview Course has full instructor support, with Ian Stanners drawing on decades of professional experience to give students the support they need to ensure maximum comprehension of the topics presented.

This program makes extensive use of narrated streaming video presentations, and all student activities are individually monitored to ensure thorough understanding of the materials presented. Upon completion of this course, you will have gained a greater understanding of the critical issues that affect breweries of every size.
